Garden Inspirations

Posted by Doug Gardner on

It's that time of year to start thinking about ways to rejuvenate and inspire your home garden. Being in the business of bringing beauty to your home and office environments, we have something to say about this topic.

Have you ever had this experience: sitting on your front porch or in the front lawn, watching the neighbors walk by, enjoying nature, and you just think..."Man, my yard is so blah"?? We know the feeling. Think about taking stock in what is important to you. Are you interested in the lush green of pristine grass? Or are you more of a flower child?! Maybe you like to bliss out to the sounds of nature...maybe even a flowing fountain in the background - or right in the center of it all.

If you are a toes in the grass, "the yard's gotta be lush green" kind of folk, then think about checking out your local sod companies. Buy local, y'all! You can also connect with your local extension office for tips on what grows best in your area (in Florida, for example, we have the University of Florida Food & Agricultural Sciences Extension Office http://ifas.ufl.edu/).

For flower children, your local nursery is your best bet. They can get to know your needs and help match you to what your heart and wallet desire. Of course, doing research online first is helpful, but we know some of you love to leave this in the hands of the experts!

If you prefer to convene with nature, our first suggestion is to get a good chair or set of chairs and an umbrella for shade. Create a versatile space for observing what is right in front of you every day…the birds, squirrels, the neighbors and bugs…everything that exists and has life even when you are not looking! To bring it to a new level, a water feature could be just the “Zen element” that you need.

We love that you are here on our site, browsing and learning. We invite you to ask us questions – there are none too small or insignificant – if you are looking to take the rout of adding life to your outdoor spaces through unique water features. They’re fun, y’all!! Once you try them, you’ll be hooked!!
