Fountain Materials Explored, Part 2

HArvey Gallery Tall Canyon Art Fountain

Copper is a common metal with very high thermal and electrical conductivity. Pure copper is soft and pliable and, found in its natural habitat, is usually a reddish-orange color upon exposure. It is used as a conductor of heat and electricity, as a common residential and commercial building material, and it is also a constituent of various metal compounds. Copper has become a common material in the creation of water features such as wall, floor or outdoor fountains. Like aluminum, copper is 100% recyclable without any loss of quality, regardless of whether it is in a raw state or in a manufactured product. In volume, copper is the third most recycled metal after iron and aluminum. Unfortunately, I’m also sure you’ve heard stories of copper pipes, wiring and other materials being stolen from housing developments and businesses. We find this natural material to be a very beautiful addition to our custom made fountains. Copper’s versatile nature allows it to be the star of the piece, or a subtle border bringing focus to the main feature.

Blueworld Gardenfall Bamboo GardenGlass is another material we work with, in the creation of our custom water features here at Water Gallery, LLC. Fun fact: Glass is made by melting together several minerals at very high temperatures. Silica, in the form of sand, is the main ingredient and this is combined with soda ash and limestone and is melted in a furnace at temperatures of 1700°C. Other materials can be added to produce different colors or properties. Glass is such a popular material in residential and commercial buildings because it has so many useful properties. Apart from being clear, it's inexpensive to make, easy to shape when it's liquid, reasonably resistant to heat when it's set, chemically inert (so a glass jar doesn't react with the things you put inside it), and it can be recycled any number of times. Water Gallery LLC. offers a premium selection of indoor glass fountains and glass waterfalls. Each of our indoor water features is constructed from the finest materials available, and we use all top quality components to ensure satisfaction.

Have fun with your materials, size, and style when it comes to choosing the right water fountain for your home or business. We’d love to help you in any way we can. Browse around our site for ideas, and feel free to contact us.
